Luxury meets comfort. Though they offer shuttle bus transportation services, we decided to walk the town and make way to the hotel on our own, which proved to be quite an exercise that we did not repeat as it sits very near the top of a hill in this lovely town. The staff was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We donned our yukata and geta (we had to wear the men’s shoes because the ladies’ option was entirely too dainty for our feet) and previous lesson learned, took the shuttle bus back into town. Everyone in town seemed excited to see us in traditional clothing and was kind enough not to point out that I wore my yukata incorrectly. We enjoyed the foot bath and when the weather changed rather suddenly to wintry rain/snow mix, we called the shuttle bus back to pick us and barely had to wait five minutes. The staff escorted us to and from the vehicle with umbrellas. The food was an amazing, traditional Japanese kaiseki meal served in our room which slightly overwhelmed some of our less adventurous eaters, but they tried everything at least. Note, this was a seven course meal and by the end, we wished we had taken the earlier dinner option as dinner ended two hours later. Even though we booked the room with the private open air spring, we wanted to try the public spring following dinner. And I am so very glad we did! Though the private bath is amazing and accessible, the night sky in the open air public bathing area was sublime. The next morning we extended our stay by an hour because my husband was not feeling well. The staff were super sweet in their concern, even asking about the rest of our party. The actual hospitality of the entire staff almost brought my best friend to tears as they bid us farewell.

We came via the Rokko-Arima Ropeway and Cablecar direction. It took us another 1km walk to the location. We were rewarded with breathtaking scenery throughout the rides and walk. Upon checking in, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to their largest suite with in-room onsen that operates 24hr at a reasonable rate. Another reason for the upgrade is that the private bath was fully occupied. The upgraded room was located at level 6, which is a level below the public and private bath floor. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and zen! Room was equipped with full facilities and massage chair! We were served with Kaiseki dinner in our room on the tatami floor just like how locals have their exquisite meal. It was terrific, really a worthy once in a lifetime experience. Next morning, Japanese style breakfast was also served in our room. Really love the experience! Follow us on insta @lionelziqian to have a full view of the room and experience. :)

This was one of the most amazing and wonderful experiences I had. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel at home at all times. I got a good price and, getting a ryokan for solo travelers is really difficult, yet I found this fantastic place. After booking I got a nice and warm message from staff asking me some things regarding my stay, also they let me know they could pick me up at the station. When arriving to Arima Onsen, the shuttle was really quick to come. As soon as you arrive they make you feel welcome. Food was exquisite, and the experience delightful. The onsen was splendid and relaxing, and the futon bed was really comfortable. Also they provide a nice Yukata to make the experience even better. I highly recommend this ryokan and I hope I can come back in a near future.

The service was impeccable, the staff delightful and the aesthetics outstanding. Easing into the calming, soothing onsen and letting the cares of life slip away was magnificent. It was an amazing experience to enjoy the massage chair and the private onsen in our own room anytime during our stay. Also, the lobby has many nice/interesting decorations so guests can enjoy their time while waiting/sitting around.

We like everything from our room, the onsen, kaiseki dinner and kaiseki breakfast. The quality of the food was high and since we were staying another night, we opted for the Sukiyaki Beef dinner which came with a large amount of Wagyu beef which was excellent of quality. We ate till our bellies were full and round.
